Study and Reliable trap made of solid wooden planks and not Plywood or MDF.Had purchased a steel mesh trap earlier.Mentioning the disadvantages of the earlier purchased steel mesh trap below:1. It wasn't reliable because the release mechanism wasn't locking and releasing effectively.2. The locking rod is Long and is hinged to the trap top hence hangs loosely. Also due to the rectangular shape of the steel trap the release rod touches the ground surface after release.3. The steel rod being long, it used to obstruct proper closure of the steel trap door leaving gap for small rats to escape from the gap.Now for the advantages of this recently purchased wooden trap:1. Sturdy wooden box made of solid wooden planks.2. Trapezoidal shape. The trap door is slanting so that after release, the trap door locks properly and the mouse cannot escape through any gap.3. Strong spring ensures quick release and shutting of door.4. String shutting of the door after release with loud noise makes us aware that the 🐀 s trapped.The finishing could be improved, but no complaints since it is very economically priced.

No proper finish observed in the product. Better to get from local market which is much more better than this

The mouse trap is good as I have caught two mice with it fairly quickly. A little crudely finished but does the job well.

It works.With the right bait, rat was caught within one hour.Material: The trap is made of what looks like sturdy wood.Make: spings, bait hook, all well placed.Size : I think upto 15 cm rats can be caught with this. It would have been better if the trap was bigger considering the opening size. My hands are not that big, so i had not much trouble putting the bait in though.Baiting:I used soft bread, and chocolate cake the first two times, so the rat just came, ate and went. The third time i put a firm apple piece, and it was caught when it tugged on it!Very important is to put the hook just at the edge of the wooden piece above, so any slight tugging will release the spring mechanism.Disposal:We released it near a sewer far away from home.Tips for rat free home:Take care of points of entry and exit. Cut any wires they climb in from, plug any holes they come through.If not possible, just make sure they don't get any food.Hostel special tips:Clean up right after eating, put all eatables in airtight containers.Put everything in closed cupboards. Don't keep the cupboards open for longer than necessary, they're very swift.Rats can cut through plastic, cloth and lots of material, so don't think they won't get your packed food items.Rats are a nuisance also in that they might transmit diseases. It took my third toothbrush to go missing for me to realise it was roaming even around my buckets! From then on, i kept not a single thing outside my cupboard. They roam around everywhere, books, bags, beds, switchboards everywhere. It's a nightmare from the hygiene point of view. Hence, make sure not to create an environment they love, and if it can't be avoided, get rid of them asap.
