I purchased this item to help pull my socks on. And it does a good job. It does take a bit of trial and error so if you want it to pull your sock on for you, you may be disappointed. First, put the sock on the item by squeezing the end together and pulling the sock so that the toes are fully on but don't pull the rest of the sock all the way up. Leave one to two inches at the top with no sock. If you pull a sock all the way up it will close the aperture down tight, and you may not be able to put your foot into the gap. It would also be recommended to have the item on the ground and up against a wall or piece of furniture. Put your foot into the opening and push in as far as it will go. Then lift your foot so you are pulling upwards slowly and unless the socks are not grippy they will slide on and up the leg.

This item was not manufactured properly and both handles detached from the plate, the first time I used it. If they are all like this it is useless as a product.The only positive is a good Amazon Returns procedure but serious do not buy.Avoid.

Bought for my brother as I've had one of these for ages, I couldn't manage without it now. Such a simple easy-to-use gadget that makes life just that bit easier.
