Solidly built....
Update @ July 2023. I still believe this unit looks great and it is very solidly built, but have uncovered a couple of issues - firstly, it attenuates the volume of the first notes of the track when you commence playback - it also does this sometimes between tracks. This is really weird. Secondly and more importantly, the unit seems to suffer from noticeable wow and flutter issues. I initially thought that this might be limited to my unit but I have done some research on the internet and found another review noting the same problem. This looks like a design issue and is a bit of a disappointment considering the effort Crosley seem to have put into other areas of the design._______________________________________________________________________________________Don't confuse this turntable with cheap Crosley offerings like the suitcase turntable. This model is in a completely different league, and you can see it as soon as you unbox it. The C62 (this is the black model, C62C, not the brown woodgrain, C62A, and they ARE different) is a heavy piece of equipment; it has a solid plinth and a very heavy metal platter. The tonearm is metal, comes with an Audio Technica AT3600 cartridge and diamond stylus. Now, this cartridge isn't the greatest one on the market but it's not bad to start with and can be upgraded if you want. And the stylus you get is conical not elliptical. The tonearm is adjustable for tracking weight and this model includes an anti-skate adjustment (note that the brown woodgrain model C62A doesn't). This feels like a quality piece of equipment; even the two dials on the top of the unit feel solid and operate smoothly.Assembly is easy and the plastic dustcover is included. It's all ready to go out of the box with the included ported speakers, but this is where the experience fades a bit - the speakers have good top and midrange response but are rather lacking in the bass department when placed on a shelf. Note that you do have the ability to plug the unit into another hifi system or amplifier using the RCA terminals and there is a built-in preamp there also. There is a bluetooth function but this only allows you to connect a bluetooth device (eg. play songs from your phone) and doesn't allow you to play records wirelessly to separate bluetooth speakers.
