Love it. Gotta have it
This is a GOTTA HAVE IT shirt and let me tell you why.The shirt is simple and plain that makes it great for any events: school, workout, beach.... the list goes on and on.It is SO comfortable, like it runs really true to the size. I'm 5'4 and 125 ordered a size small and fits really well. The material is very cool and makes it great in hot weatherGoes well with both shorts and jeansVery Cheap For A Very Good Product!!Must Have. I already ordered 3 :)Update: I've had these three shirts: tri coffee, athletic grey, and tri cranberry, for almost 4 months now and they are still terrific. They haven't shrink a bit in the dryer (I use the dedicate mode) or any sign of discoloration. The only negative thing is that some of the thread are starting to fall out of place. But hey, it has been four months and I wore them once every week.

Nice Dress Teeshirt
Really nice teeshirt for the money. I live in hot Florida so the lighter cloth works well for me. The hand feel and body feel is nice and silky. For people living in colder climates, the shirt should make a nice layer shirt. In Florida, it is my shirt. Manufacturing quality was exceptional, the only issue was the neck tag that was sewn in, I don't like neck tags and tore it out, it came out well, but because it was sewn on, there was a tiny amount of thread disruption, turns out not to be a big deal though. I ordered a black, forest, indigo and blue, the craft on all is excellent. Really nice dress teeshirt for the price, excellent value.

My favorite shirts
So I have to begin this review with a caveat: I know basically nothing about fashion, shirts, or clothing in general. For most of my life I wore crappy cotton t-shirts, because I'd get them from events and clubs and sports teams and so on and I'd just wear those all the time. Like I said, I know basically nothing about fashion. Anyways, at some point I grew up and got a job, and while my habit of just wearing whatever shirts people give me persisted, I started getting shirts from work events that were actually really nice--I'm not exaggerating when I say that I literally didn't realize a t-shirt could feel this soft before. So eventually I got it into my head that maybe I should start buying my own clothes and not just wear my employer's logo anywhere, so I took a look at the tag on those wonderful shirts, and it turns out they were these. So now I've bought quite a few of them in plain colors, and they're absolutely great. Nice and soft, and I love the textured look.

Nice shirt
I bought this shirt after purchasing the indigo colored Tri-Blend short sleeve Track Shirt from the American Apparel website. I assumed the color would be the only difference, but this shirt is a slightly tighter fit than the one bought from American Apparel, and within 2 or 3 weeks, a hole popped up under one of the arm pits. The shirt I got directly from American Apparel is in perfect condition (with more wear time), and fits nicer. That being said, this is a nice shirt and I wear it a lot. I mostly wear it under button-down shirts now, since it's a little tighter than I prefer, but it's still nice. The fabric is very soft and comfortable.

fits like all my other mediums
Got a medium, fits like all my other mediums. Quality is great. Got free swag from my work that used the 50/50 AA shirts over a year ago. I like the way that shirt held up, so I purchased a couple more. I got brown, and it looks like the brown in the picture. I also got navy blue, and it looks like the picture too. Also got their tri blend in a lighter brown...called coffee brown or oats or something, too lazy to check....but I got it in large and it fits like a large. Pretty comfy shirts! Will eventually get more, since these plain shirts can go with anything.

Black tri blend is NOT black. It’s grey.

Sizing is the same as it was 5 years ago
Just wanted to confirm that fitment, at least on a small, appears to be about the same as it was on several shirts I purchased in July 2018, including the length. These are long shirts but they're pretty snug at the waist. At least for me (5'5" 140lbs.) they bunch up enough in natural day to day use that they don't appear to be abnormally long.

American Apparel does not mean what it used to.
Ugh. I've tried buying these american apparel shirts from several different amazon vendors, and sadly they're all the same. These shirts are not what AmAp shirts used to be, they're own by Gildan now (who's business model is to make a cheap, low quality product) and exclusively manf in central/south america now. You might is well buy a $7 fruit of the loom brand slim fit blend shirt, because that's essentially what this is, if that. These are the distinctions it has from the old AmAp shirts:Too longVery Thin and feel like a scratchy polyester, not nearly as softColors are lighterI do not expect these to hold up like the old ones haveIt's just a shame since this is the only shirt i wore in highschool and college. whatever. nothing matters anyway.
