Just what i needed to get started with weighted vest for walking. The vest is very good quality and comfortable. I have realized quickly I should have gotten heavier vest but took some velcro ankle weights and wrapped around the vest for more weight. Once I feel like its easy to walk with I think I will get adjustable weight vest to increase more as I need. Greater intro to weighted vest!

This was purchased because I saw someone online with it. Price is good for a starter vest. Out of the package it smells like new workout gear. I opted for the 8lb vest to get started. I have worn it around the house and it is pretty comfortable. The design is good. Easy to slip on and use the front clip and adjust as needed. I can wear it around the house for a couple of hours and function as I need- folding laundry, vacuuming, computer work etc. I was cautioned to wear it for 15-30 minutes at a time and get used to it.

After airing out the smell for 4 days, I took my first walk wearing the 8 lb. weighted vest. I am 78 years old, 5'3" tall, and 125 lbs. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 1999 when I shattered my right wrist. I have been doing 10,000 steps a day to build bone and that worked so well that for a time, I was testing "low risk for osteoporosis." But about 3 years ago, I came up with osteopenia, and then just recently osteoporosis again! My son-in-law is a geriatric physical therapist who's been helping me with maintenance all these years. He suggested the weighted vest. So it's too early to see if it builds bone to do this, but my goal is to reach an hour a day and we'll see what happens. I'm also adding boron through food to my diet. And I know I don't eat enough red meat ... so there's room for improvement. I'll update when I get the next DEXA scan ... not sure when but hoping for more bone! If you’re trying to level up your walking/running routine then this is absolutely what you need. I read reviews and decided the 12lb vest was right for me. It fits perfectly, very durable, and it’s designed so that it distributes the weight equally. I also have scoliosis and it doesn’t cause any issues. There is no smell at all. I highly recommend this vest. Also, for the price you cannot do better.

Have been walking with this vest for about a month. I can really feel a difference in posture, muscles all over. 140lbs bought 12 lbs. going up to a 16 lbs soon. Fits comfortably

Just arrived today and wore it tonight in. 4 mile walk. Great fit, weight was distributed evenly, strap is adjustable and it didn’t ride up when I walked. I went with the 16lb one and could definitely feel it in my back and shoulders and legs: So far, so good!

Chances are I'll come back and update this review but here's why I only gave this vest 3 stars...It fits much smaller than the one in the pic and I'm really frustrated with items fitting differently than the pictures indicate. I don't know if I received a different item than ordered, but it fits just like the posture corrector bought prior to this. Imagine putting it on and having it buckle right above your chest and only come to the bottom of your shoulder blades in the back. That's the fit!Now, what I love about it... As soon as I buckled it I felt my shoulders pull back and since I've noticed issues with my posture lately that's a beautiful thing!My suggestion, if you have any skeletal issues, bone density, spine, hips, knees, etc I recommend speaking with your doctor before ordering this. I ordered the lightest weight available so I wasn't expecting it to be as heavy as it is. I have a slight issue with my lower back and as soon as I slipped this on I felt one of my lower vertebrae slip a bit. Not so much that it caused any discomfort but I definitely felt it move, so I decided to limit the amount of time I wear it and gradually increase it. Initially I only wore it around the house while cleaning and taking out the trash. Recently I began wearing it at the beginning of my exercises and intend to increase it to my full workout over time, eventually I'll start wearing it on walks as well.I'm usually good at updating my reviews so I'll keep everyone posted. Again, I only wish it fit the way it did in the pics. That would've distributed the weight evenly throughout my torso and not made it so top heavy, which would've made it more comfortable and not so hard on my lower spine. Right now all the weight across my shoulders and that's creating the discomfort. I know if the weight were evenly distributed on the upper portion of my body it would be much easier on me physically. This feels as though I'm waking around with a heavy barbell laying across my shoulders.
