Good reviews though seems to have lemons
This item so far is unable to transmit or receive. I have the MD390 which has no issues and works fine. I really want this to work from the reviews of other hams.

Great dmr radio !
Overall this is one of the best cheap dmr radios easy to use and comes charged out of the box. One problem is the programming software it is really confusing to use and if you do not save your programs your channels will be deleted

MD380 AFFORDABLE ENTRY LEVEL DMR RADIO
The TYT MD380 is a great handheld radio for those new to DMR radio. I recently purchsed thelatest version of the MD380. I now have two. I use one for mobile and one for use with my hotspot. I will say this, I would recommend buying a newer, version 4, edition of the MD380 as reports about my ouput audio between my two year old radio and this new one are different. It's anecdotal but the output audio is better on the newer MD380s. To come full circle if you want to try DMR the MD380 is very affordable and software for programming and firmware enhancements is readily available online. Instruction for use and programming can be found on YouTube.

Good DMR Radio Buts Needs Improving
Bought this radio for an employee. It is a solid radio but compared to my ANytone 868 it needs a lot of improvement. To begin it needs to be able to hold more than 16 channels per zone. The CPS programming software is a little confusing and TYT needs to improve it and also provide better explanations for each setting. The sound is very good for audio but battery life is a little lacking. I can leave my Anytone on for days and it hardly ever needs recharging. For the price this is a great DMR starter radio if you cant afford better.
