Provides relief and warmth for a solid 8 hours or more. I’m between the S/M and LG/XLG sizes and I’d say side up if you’re in doubt. At first I thought it was nice to have the support of it being a little snug but not continually, at least not for me!

I'm an usher for a midwest Major League Baseball team where April baseball can take place in snow and 27' wind chill weather. One bitterly cold night game where I could not stop shivering, my associate gave me a ThermaCare Heatwraps to wear. I'm sure these Heatwraps are wonderful for a sore back, but wearing that heatwrap warmed me up enough to get through to the end of the game. This stuff really soothes a sore back, it works best when you have a stiff back before you injure yourself. The small/medium fits me well, I wear a men’s waste size 32

The particular group of heatwraps I ordered from Amazon DO NOT HEAT UP. They are being returned. That said, I initially bought some at CVS. They work great. Just know that it takes 30-45 minutes for the heat to activate after putting them on. The heat provided enables me to at least get through my day when I can't be at home on the heating pad. If you get some that WORK, you won't be sorry.

ThermaCare wraps not only reduce muscle aches but also obviate the need to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen too frequently. I wear the back wraps at night while sleeping. Does the trick!
